CEILING COOLING
AND HEATING

Maintain the ideal temperature all year round - quietly, economically and without draughts.
The Czech UNIVENTA system works on the principle of radiant cooling and heating through the ceiling.

Basic pricnip

Ceiling cooling

Cooling mats or pipes carrying 16 °C water are evenly distributed across the ceiling. The ceiling structure, whether plasterboard ceiling, plaster, metal cassettes or slats, effectively cools the building, creating a comfortable and stable environment. The cold accumulation makes the building better able to withstand temperature extremes, ensuring that there are no unpleasant temperature fluctuations inside.

Basic principle

Ceiling heating

The active ceiling construction system can also be used for heating. Today, higher demands on the quality of building structures make it possible to significantly reduce heat loss in houses. Thanks to the large active ceiling area, high heating performance is achieved. The radiant heat heats the surrounding structures evenly and creates a stable and comfortable temperature environment

Advantages of the technology

Cooling and heating through the ceiling

Minimum air flow

It creates a cool indoor environment without cold air flow.

Requires no service or maintenance

It does not require any regular service or maintenance (as is the case with air conditioners).

It's quiet.

In radiant systems, the energy is transferred by the flow of water in a pipe in the ceiling structure.

It is architecturally clean

The cooling and heating system is built into the structure of the house. Unlike air conditioners, there is no need for an indoor unit or air outlets.

It is energy efficient

Unlike other cooling systems, ceiling cooling does not require such low operating temperatures. An air-to-water heat pump in combination with ceiling cooling thus cools the space at 50% costs compared to air conditioning.

It has a long service life

Polybutylene piping for cooling and heating mats has the highest durability of any material used in heating and cooling applications.

Technical solutions

  • DELGADO SDK Ceiling

The system consists of DELGADO® thin cooling registers, which are placed on plasterboard and ensure simple and safe installation. For maximum performance, we recommend the use of gypsum plasterboards with increased thermal conductivity, containing graphite. The system uses standard metal construction for plasterboard ceilings using CD and UD metal profiles. DELGADO® registers are custom made to project specifications and cooling capacity can reach up to 70 W/m².

  • ACTIVE Ceiling

In the ACTIVE® Ceiling system, the cooling pipes are placed in the milled grooves of the plasterboard. The active cooling panels are available in standard sizes or are custom made to project specifications. These boards are installed on a standard metal structure designed for dropped ceilings, using CD profiles at 333mm centres. The cooling capacity of the system is 50 W/m². The cooling medium is water, which flows through a pipe located above the viewing surface of the room. This allows a clean and minimalist design to be maintained without visible technology in the interior.

  • PLASTER Ceiling

The cooling pipes are built directly into the ceiling plaster, which is applied in combination with a 10-20 mm thick plaster or plaster core. DELGADO PLASTER cooling registers are made to measure according to project specifications. Pneumatic concrete shot blasting machines can be used for installation on the ceiling structure, ensuring a fast and efficient installation. Alternatively, the pipes can be inserted into the rails directly during installation. The cooling capacity can be up to 75 W/m², depending on the spacing of the pipes and the plaster mix used.

  • DELGADO Lamella

The DELGADO Lamella ceiling is made of 30 mm wide steel slats with a standard thickness of 0.4 mm in steel or 0.5 mm in aluminium. The slats are easily clamped onto the omega support profiles, which are attached to the structural ceiling with adjustable noni hinges. The slats can be easily clicked into the mounting rails by hand and just as easily removed. The standard joint width of this ceiling is 20 mm, resulting in a module dimension of 50 mm. The perfect connection to the walls is achieved by installing edge profiles.
